The West Park Early Childhood PTA is an organization for parents of preschool-aged children, dedicated to improving the quality of life for parents and children by giving guidance, friendship and reassurance. We are part of the National Parent-Teacher Association, but we're not affiliated with any particular church or school. We're a group of neighborhood Moms and Dads living mostly in the West Park area of Cleveland, Ohio. Membership is open to everyone with an interest in preschool-aged children, including expectant parents and non-residents. Currently our membership stands at 132 people, and we welcome new members at any time. Membership requirements are pretty simple: $15 plus 10 hours of volunteer time a year, including help with fundraisers. We contribute to local charities for families and children, and we provide meals to members who have just given birth or have special needs. We meet on the THIRD Thursday of each month, September through May, from 6:30 to 9:00 pm, at the West Park Evangelical Friends Church, 3780 W. 140th Street. Babysitting is provided. Anyone with young children is welcome to join. Just show up, and bring a snack to share if you want!

Activities
We plan lots of activities throughout the year. We have several play groups, four parties a year, and several field trips each month, and speakers are planned for each of our monthly meetings. Family and adult outings and coffee klatches are scheduled periodically. This year we'll hold a Nite at the Races, our Kidsellabration is held in March, and our yearly banquet and plant sale are held each May. We also host a week-long Safety Town session every Summer, where kids entering kindergarten or 1st grade are taught important safety lessons they'll need as they head off to school.
